I didn’t go to Goa till I was 23. I am, fortunately or unfortunately, born in a Brahmin family with folks who don’t drink, smoke or eat meat. They don’t travel much, and even if they do, it is either to a temple town or … Continue reading Summer beach fling
It happened this evening. Amidst the animated, somewhat colourful nature. Birds chirped. Trees swayed. And the sky changed colours. But not the way man does. It began with a baby blue, turned to a warm yellow And settled on a peachy orange. Sorbet hues that … Continue reading Drizzle
Planning a spa treatment involves a lot of work—browsing through the top listings, shuttling among wraps, scrubs and massages, negotiating the price and most importantly, blocking a time slot. What I need is an impromptu therapy that will instantly de-stress me. I am too exhausted to do my homework. So I take my pick and head to the Nalini of Nalini and Yasmin’s spa section on a sweltering October afternoon following a shopping spree at Bandra.
I’m not always a fan of spa therapies. Especially because they involve a lot of effort—changing clothes and taking a shower. I want something on the go, which is why the De-stress Massage works well for me—no need to change clothes and no oils used. Once I settle down, I’m whisked away to the cozy massage room equipped with all necessities.
By now, the positive vibes have calmed me down. I have two warm and cheerful therapists attending to me—Manita, who begins with playing out patterns on my forehead (Reiki healing) with her nimble fingers, and Heena, who simultaneously works on my feet. The two then move on to unknot the different parts of my body including the head, shoulders, hands, neck and back. I surrender myself to the experience and drift away into a semi-coma state. Fifty minutes seem to fly away and the therapists gently wake me up from my doze. A steaming cup of herbal tea refreshes me and I’m all set to take on another hectic week.

25 is considered the beginning of life. Most of us are busy giving interviews, getting over heartbreaks, chugging beer on the beach or making donations to the gym while stuffing our face with cupcakes. Wait! Don’t sink into your comfort zone already. I’d like to … Continue reading “Surfing is a tool for positive change”
You don’t always have to whizz down the freeway to dine at your favourite haunts in town. This weekend, head to Vashi’s Inorbit Mall and indulge your taste buds at the all new Pot Pourri, the crown jewel of Navi Mumbai’s culinary landscape. I’m forever confused when … Continue reading World famous in Vashington
